It’s been more than 35 years since Glyn Worsnip’s BBC series The Paras, which showed British Parachute Regiment recruits being put through their paces between January and June 1982. The training regimen is known to be the toughest in the British Army — and that hasn’t changed in the decades since Worsnip followed the young men of the 480 Recruit Platoon, as this new three-part ITV series reveals.
