An American teenager who went missing three months ago after her parents were shot dead has been found alive.
Authorities feared that Jayme Closs, 13, had been kidnapped after her mother and father were found dead at their home in Barron County, Wisconsin. The search for her, involving 2,000 volunteers, was national news.
Jayme was found yesterday about 65 miles from where she was last seen and a suspect was arrested shortly afterwards. Police have disclosed no further details regarding their identity.
“We promised to bring Jayme home and tonight we get to fulfill that promise,” Chris Fitzgerald, sheriff of Barron County, said in a statement. “From the bottom of my heart thank you!”
