Lewis Hamilton has said it is “likely” he won’t continue in the sport if it expands to 25 races and would prefer it to be shorter than it presently is.
Hamilton was speaking after Formula One announced on Wednesday it was adding Vietnam to the calendar. The owners have spoken of their desire to expand from 21 races to around 25 a year and Hamilton is a key part of Liberty Media’s plans to make the drivers the stars of the sport.
But the newly-crowned five-times world champion said the season was already too long and there was not enough time between seasons to be able to recover.
